Where are my recipes stored?
On your phone. Kitchive has no accounts and keeps no copy of your recipes on a server. If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, a copy lives in your own private iCloud as well — and nowhere else.
How do I back up or move to a new iPhone?
Settings → Export recipes writes every recipe as a single readable JSON file. Send it to the new phone (AirDrop or Files), install Kitchive, then Settings → Import recipes. With iCloud sync on, a new phone signed into the same Apple Account picks the recipes up by itself.
What leaves my phone when I import something?
A pasted link is opened by your phone, like a browser would, and read there. If you say yes to reading it with AI, the text of the page — never the link itself — goes through Kitchive's server to an AI provider and no copy is kept. Pasted text goes the same way when you tap Read the recipe; the screen says so under the box. A photograph of a page or a plate is sent as a smaller copy with its location data removed. Manual recipes never leave the phone. The privacy policy lists every host the app ever contacts.
How many AI reads are free?
Three, for the life of the install. After that, reading with AI is part of Kitchive Pro, at thirty a day. A read that fails never counts. Reading on the device — links, pasted text and photographed pages — stays free and unlimited with or without Pro.
Why did a photo of a dish say "today's dish photos used up"?
Recognising a dish from a plate is a separate, daily allowance: three a day free, thirty a day with Pro. It comes back at midnight (UTC). A photo of a written recipe, a link or pasted text still reads in the meantime.
The recipe it proposed for my dish looks off.
A recipe proposed from a photograph is a suggestion, marked as such throughout: the amounts are what the dish usually takes, not something anyone wrote down. Check them before you cook — and if the dish itself was misread, tap Choose a dish to pick another candidate or write it by hand.
How do I cancel Pro?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Kitchive → Cancel. Everything you saved stays fully accessible on the free tier; only the extras — thirty AI reads a day, up to twelve photos per recipe and iCloud sync — go away.
Does the app collect usage statistics?
Only if you switch them on in Settings → Privacy. They are anonymous, contain no recipe content, and are listed event by event in the privacy policy.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Delete all recipes removes every recipe, photo and folder from the phone, and from iCloud if sync was on. Deleting the app does the same for the phone.
Which languages does Kitchive speak?
English, German and Turkish, following your phone's language. Recipes read with AI come back in that language; a dish keeps its own name.
